In the late 1990s, Scaled Technology Works was awarded a contract by The Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington, to produce wind tunnel blades. It is not certain that STW, which went bankrupt and closed in 2003, actually delivered all or part of that contract. However, the fact that another company by the name of V Systems Composites is currently in charge of the fabrication of up to 144 blades for Boeing's transonic wind tunnel facility seems to indicate that this is simply the same project being taken over after STW's demise. V Systems Composites is engaged in the production of advanced composite structures meeting stringent aero requirements.
